Arrow Need a price approximate...

There's an FD f/s literally 5 min from my place, but it has no engine/turbo's.

Comes with the tranny, a straight frame, full interior, etc etc.

I'm going to ask a local FD owner with his own speed shop a quote, but was wondering if anyone here would know of a good ball-park that I should keep in mind as to how much it will cost to get it running again...

If your not doing the work yourself then you can't afford it.

i agree with above, if you cant do it yourself, then its going to be alot..

no offense but speed shops love people like you, they can charge whatever they feel and if you really want it, of course you're gonna go for it..

going back to if you can do it yourself, if not, its a buttload of green..

I hate to always disagree with you guys but have you thought of the option of getting a used low mile jspec engine? they come complete with turbos wiring harness and everything for around 3k shipped from a guy in cali...
its hard to trust the integrity of the engine you'de get but for that price I'd try it....oh yeah and shops here charge 1k for R&R and this is just one part of that so it should cost 500 to install

3500-4k total with gaskets and other random stuff and including labor

if you really wanna do it right and enjoy your car get that engine and have it rebuilt by a really good shop add ~1700. If that car is cheap enough youll have a hell of a fd for cheap

I know a place in Sacramento where you can get a complete Jspec engine with harnesss ecu turbos and sometimes they even have ports for 2000 dollars and yea with a tranny also. So maybe add another 1000 for some realiable mods to get you by for a while and yea they are low mileage 10K-25K miles.

you would be better off buying one with a blown motor for 7-8k. then putting a reman or somethign in it for another 3kish.

but if money is a problem for you dont buy this car

I would love to know how you figure 5 grand for labor. Is the shop that your talking abouts machanics 90+ years old??? 5 grand for parts is probably about right, but 5 grand for labor is just a stupid estimate.
