Question Need pointers for removing the rear bumper

I found this thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ng+rear+bumper

and I am after that same piece to remove. The manual doesn't look that bad to remove but as the other thread suggested...there are alot of hidden clips and such.

I'm not sure I have to remove the rear strut tower and am not sure why it was mentioned.

However,in the diagram in the service manual it looks like to remove:
1)rear brake lights
2) rear bumper lights
3) screws receased in rear bumper lights
4) screws on top...
5) lower corner bumper screws
and thats it????

pointers would be appreciated thanks!

You will need to remove the trunk trim inside the trunk to access the bolts that hold the edges of the bumper cover to the 1/4 panels. There are also two PIA clips to squeeze that are buried down in the depths of the 1/4, access from inside.

There are two 12mm nuts that you'll have to take off from under the car also.

So each side at the 1/4 panel to bumper cover edge has 2 10mm nuts, 2 clips, 1 12mm nut.

You also need a 40 torx bit to get the top of the cover off (or was it a 30 or 35??). Don't see why you would have to remove the strut bar

Strut bar was probably mentioned if you're going to take the side trunk panels completely out.
