Need opinion on this 93 RX-7

I am new to this board, but not new to posting on car forums. I do not know alot about rotary engines and the RX-7 in general, so I need to know what everyone thinks of this car http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2414428044 , I know it looks like it has some problems, but any advise or help is appreciated.

Thanks
Rob

If you want a project car, that wouldn't be bad to start with.... However, it's going to need a lot of TLC and $$$...

The smoke on startup sounds like it's probably in need of a new engine (rebuilt or replaced). It could possibly be oil buring off from the turbos, but doubful (turbos, that's something else which will probably need to be rebuilt or replaced).

The paint is horrible. The interior is in bad shape. I would imagine that if the suspension is original, most of it will need to be replaced by now. And wheels, at least you know those need to be replaced...

Could be fun if that's something you are looking to get into (a project car that is). If you are really new to rotaries (like you said above), check the following thread:

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=147498

It will give you some information to seach on so you can learn what you might be getting yourself into.... Good luck!

Plan on spending a few thousand dollars to keep it running.

White smoke is not a good sign. Engine could be cooked.

Ask them to provide a warranty for the engine. Odds are its gone.

in the end, You get what you pay for

Thanks for the advice, how bout something like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6327 I know its auto, but how is the auto trans in the RX-7's? I know for example an auto supra is almost or as good as manual.

What's the stock HP on a TT RX-7? What are the best HP mods for the money?

Rob
