need more headroom

i'm prepping my car for track events. my biggest problem is that at 6'2" i have no room for my helmet. unfortunately, i have a sunroof car. if anyone has experience lowering the stock seat, i would love to hear. i would be willing to go to an afternmarket seat if it will give 2" of headroom. thanks for any help in advance.

this is sad....among all the stupid questions in 3rd gen specific, an actual good one gets un-noticed....

yes, most aftermarket seats sit quite a bit lower than the stock seats. a friend of mine has some sparco sprints that sit me a few inches lower in the car even on the stock rails. try and get to a speed shop and try out some of their seats. your seat is only held on by 4 16mm(size?) bolts so you can rip it out in a hurry and sit one of theirs in there to try it out.

I too am 6'1" 6'2" depending on the day and also have a sunroof. I take my car to the track and have head room issues. I put a Sparco Rev seat in my car. The seat is mounted almost as low as possible. I still have to scoot down in the seat to keep from hitting my head. The problem here is that my 4 point harness crosses my stomach not my waist. I can't really move it down any and taking an impact in the belly could cause serious injury. I am looking into removing the sunroof assembly in a temporary way which looks like it will give me at least two maybe even three inches more room where I need it. The biggest problems are securing the roof panel in place and not being able to have even an R1 headliner in there.
