i have a bone stock 94 rx7 R2 package and i need some info on the cooling system so i can race it on the 1/4 mile drag track without the rx7 overheating under these racing conditions. Could you guys give me some info on any parts that will give me extreme cooling conditions. I had inmind a racing radiator, aluminum air separator tank, downpipes, intercooler, and spark plugs. also could you guys list in order inwhich i should get these parts, thanks.

 

well ... if you want to lower underhood temps ... get a downpipe first ... That will dramatically help you engine stay cooler.

As far as radiator goes ... the stock one is fine unless/until the end tanks (plastic) crack ... if the stock one you have is fine, i'd suggest doing a coolant swap to the Evan's coolant (NPG). That stuff is awesome.

Other than that, you should be fine for some racing .... when you start to do more mods like intercooler, mp/hi-flo cat, catback, intake ... you'll need to do an ecu upgrade and that gets pricey.

 

How many miles are on the car?

If it has a lot ... i'd look into flushing and cleaning the dual oil coolers ... that way you get some good flow through them and that will aide cooling as well.
