Need help removing the water pump. Dang feel like a noob.

Ok so I have been on the forum forever and am doing the simple R&R of the water pump (with the RE one). So yes I searched and read the FSM.

But for the life of me, how do I get that bracket that covers the right most bolt (facing the car) off?

Its the one that holds the alternator into place.

I do see one 14mm nut that I think if I loosen, the bracket will come off. However, I don't seem to have a socket to fit in there. The bracket covers part of the nut.

Any help would be appreciated!

You can't get to the bolt by removing the tension pulley?

why do you need to take that bracket off in the first place if your just removing the water pump?

Dont think so. The nut is actually attached to the bracket that holds on the tension,PS and AC and is a pain to get to.

Hehe, youve never taken off the waterpump before then if youre asking this =P

Doc, if you havent figured it out yet, you need to remove the bracket completely. Youll need an open ended wrench.
Loosen up the alternator pivot bolt on the left side of the alt (17mm I think).

Remove the nut that runs through the bracket that actually holds the alternator at the desired tension (Retaining nut facing forward 14mm?)

Remove the LONG threaded tension bolt at the top of that bracket that holds the Alternator. The retaining part will fall out, catch it! This will allow the alternator to move up and down. If I remember correctly, youll need that movement to get the bracket off. (14mm?)

Now the tricky part, youll have to get a open ended wrench to get to that last hidden one youre having trouble with. Its tucked behind the accessory bracket. I HATE that one. Keep working at it with the open wrench and it should come free. The fun part is getting it back in

It's not "attached". The nut holds the A/C bracket as well. I can access it with the tension pulley removed. However yes, the A/C bracket needs to be loosened or removed to get the pump out.

Really? hmmm.. are you trying to remove the bracket to get the alternator out? I took the whole part of the front motor off...but dont' really remember anymore.. Lol

Dude, I might hit you up...Ray has been over a couple times and we installed an akrapovic exhaust on the GT-R
