Need help please!!
Guys, I just had an engine rebuild after a melt down due to a rad failure. I upgraded to 3mm seals, Fluidyne rad, intercooler, etc. This cost alot of money to make the car reliable and of course fast. But I was out breaking in the motor and it started to heat all of a sudden, so I turned it off and let the fans run to cool it down. Thermo-stat!
My ? is should the guys that rebuilt it not have put in a new thermo-stat after a severe overheat? I think I did not damage it but it does idle alot worse when it is cold. They said no warranty on a overheat. After all the cash I spent I am pissed off that they would even say that.
What would you say? and it was a RX-7 shop.

Bad race shop
What's up with that? If they test drove it, they should have seen it get hot. Did you go past 3/4 or red line? You should have towed it to the shop.
Unfortunately the top 1/2 of the engine isn't what gets rebuilt. They make it sound like a whole new engine but it the housing and rotors that get worked on.
They should have looked for problems after the install. It might have been overheating that killed your engine. Usually that or too much boost.
Unless you went in the red, I think you are ok but don't drive it...tow it to the shop.
