Need Help With Idle Problems

I searched...but nothing described my situation. The last two times I have driven my car to my job, when I was letting the turbos cool my car started idling(?) funny. It was fairly smooth, but every couple seconds (5 or so) there was a kinda puff sound from my exhaust...like a sputtering...and the whole car would jerk. No smoke. What's weird is that I've only noticed it twice driving to the same place...nowhere else. Or maybe I'm just oblivious. Any ideas what would do this?

Thanks

jeremyb, are you having a similar problem? Is that why you are ressurrecting this thread?

Three possibilities come to mind: (1) you have a minor air leak in you intake; (2) you have an air leak in your air pump; or (3) you have a borderline grounding problem.

(1) i checked my intakes no leak.
(2)My air pump DID have a leak... it was that rubber hose connecting the airpump outlet to the hardpipe next to the UIM. But i disconnected the connector to the air pump and blocked off the pipe that is supposed to connect to the air pump... yes it had lumpy idle... like it was humping the ground. So i guess that's the problem.
(3)i checked all the ground connections i can see they look find to me... but maybe a little fine steel wool would help?
**i brougt back this thread because i didnt know i had an airpump leak. Then a few hours after bumping this thread i found it. I'm gonna try put a new hose on it and hopefully itll solve my problem**

Thx JD
