need help with autometer water guage
I installed the electronic autometer water temp guage. After install, the gauge stayed at 110 degrees. A pulled the gauge out and noticed that the purple lead had been disengaged from the plug that inserts to the back of the guage. However, there are two slots where the purple lead can be replugged. I do not want to guess and plug in the wrong slot and possibly short out the gauge. Can someone tell me where the purple lead goes?

Wish I could help, but the only advise I have for you (in case no one knows) is to e-mail Autometer with your problem. I'm sure you can get them to help with instructions or maybe get them to e-mail you a schematic. Good Luck.

Called Autometer this morning. They gave me the wiring diagram for the meter. There are five slots on top and bottom. Looking with the clip on top, left to right and from the wire end it is: empty, empty, black, empty, red.
On bottom left to right: empty, white, empty, grey, purple. This should be the same for any electronic water temp gauge. However, autometer has excellent customer service and even offered to replace the wires if the wires continued to come loose.
