Unhappy Need emergency help taking off main cat....!!!!

Hey I got all the bolts out and the front flanges to come down but I cant get the rear ones to seperate. The reason is a stablizer hanger for the main cat is holding on to cat. It's a metel bar coming off the cat and one coming of the body of the car. Its tied together by a rubber gromet. The rods going through the gromet are a little mushroomed headed so I can't really slide it out of the rubber gromet. What do I do? Do I have to cut it, and if so do I have to weld a metel bar in the rubber gromets place at a exhuast shop? Please this ended my day on the car in a bad mood.

P.S. I ran the car a little with the main cat flange off, and for some reason I loved it(really loud). I wish I could drive around like that! I'am gonna love the mid-pipe when I put it on.

if i understand what u are talking about, then it just requires some effort to pull the metal hook from out of the rubber gromet. u shouldn't have to cut anyting

Spray the rubber hangers with a lubricant (make sure its safe for rubber) and slide them off. It takes some force but it should come off.

Yeah they seem pretty dried out and the head of the rod is kinda mushroomed but it should work right? Have you had to do this?

Slip a flathead screwdriver inbetween the hanger and rod and spray like WD40 in there. It will come right off after that.

That's the trick. That's what I've always done anyways. When you put it back, lots of WD-40 as well.
