Need electrical help...

Allright, I have yet another one of my strange electrical problems. I drove to my friends house fine but when I was about to leave the car didn’t start. I tried jumping it and push starting it but nothing happened. When I used the remote start on my alarm the car starts up fine, but if you know the remote start you need the key in the ignition to drive away or not when you press the brake the car will shut off. But for some reason it didn’t recognize the key was in the ignition. So I cant start to the car with the key but I can with the remote start. My question is do you think that it is the alarm and is not letting it start or is the ignition switch that is not working correctly. Is there a way to check if the ignition switch is working good. When I stick the key in the ignition the light turn on and everything but when I go to crank the motor it doesn’t do anything. The remote start does it just fine. Thanks

I would check the alarm first. Then check to see if the starter is getting signal. That should tell you were your problem lies.
