I started loosing pedal pressusre if I held the clutch down more than a couple of seconds, but it would come back to normal if I pumped it. I found a leak in the hose and replaed it with a s/s line. I bled everything and the pedal felt better than ever. As soon as I started driving the pedal went to the floor and the clutch wouldn't disengage so it stalled.
I pulled the inspection plates and the fork wasn't broken. I could see the clutch move about an 1/8" off the flywheel (should it move more than this?). It wasnt easy but I could move the fork back by hand (should I be able to do this?).
The slave looked fine and wasn't leaking but when I put it back in the whole thing came apart and fluid went everywhere. I don't know if that has anything to do with it since it seemed fine before. Should I worry about just putting it back together? Do I need a new one?
The clutch is an ACT steet/strip with 30,000 on it. It doesn't slip and this is the first problem I've had with it. Anyone have any suggestions?

 

I had a similar problem. I wastold by a forum member it was 99.99999999% a clutch slave. I replaced that to no avail. I replaced the other part it could have been(master cyl.) and it fixed the problem. hope that helps.

 

more than likely your master cylinder is dead or dying. 1/8" is plenty but you said it was stuck to the floor, if there is no external leaks then you can pretty much bet it is a dead master cylinder, that or you have an issue with the clutch fork arm/pivot assembly.

 

I put the slave back together abd tried to rebleed it but after a couple of pumps the slave came apart again. Its lke its pushing too far. Is the fork the only thing stopping the slave or is there suppossed to be a clip or something aroung the boot?

I guess I will replace the slave and master and see if that helps.
