Need AST internal pictures
I'm thinking about building my own air separation tank.
So, I've seen some small external pictures of the aftermarket units on the various sites that sell them. But I'm interested in seeing the inside of the stock AST. I'd rather not cut mine open just yet... so I'm wondering if anyone who has already replaced theres would! Or does anyone have one that was leaking and replaced that they want to cut open and photograph?
Items that interest me are reports that there is some baffles in the stock tank, and possibly restrictors.
Searching revealed no pictures of stock AST internals (though some other folks have asked for these same pics in the past).
Anyone?
Cheers,
Anders
- Yes, I'm aware they sell them.
- Yes, I'm familiar with the economics of buying a ready made one versus creating your own, value of time, etcetera.
- I have the tools to weld aluminum.
- I have a bunch of aluminum.
- I like making things.

1) Excellent, just what I was looking for.
2) Amazing that 20 minutes of searching and reading through 30-40 threads didn't turn that up.
Cheers,
Anders

I agree its not needed and it does introduce more failure points. However, it does retain more coolant volume in an already limited system...5% of total volume if that, but every bit hepls.
