my water temp gauge dosen't work and my fans don't turn on

what is the problem?

I tested all the fan relays and they work. The fans work, as I've been jumping them through the diagnostics port so I can drive the car.

I am guessing a broken thermoswitch?

I assume the broken water gauge and no fans correlate with each other.

Does the wire for the thermoswitch run directly to the relay, or to the ECU first?

My PFC still reads water temp just fine, it's just the OEM gauge that dosen't work. I don't hit over 86c.
