My tach reads 9 when car is sitting
I have had some weird problems with my tach.... Every once in a while it will get a mind of its own and start chilling at different rpms. It might work for a second then hang, really weird and erratic. I thought it might be the way I tapped into the Speedo sensor... re-soldered that and no difference.... does anyone have any ideas. My PFC still reads out the rpm, just my tach is retarded.
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks,

My tach would drop to zero, then come back alive. It was deemed unrepairable and replaced under warranty.
I've heard of solder points breaking loose inside the instrument cluster. Something to check if you have to pull it out anyway.
Good luck.

The soldering problem is when its dead in the water. I had one that did the same thing you just need to buy a new cluster. Good luck
