Do you drive your car often? If not the only bad things I have heard is that the battery sometimes lets say it has been 2 weeks you have not taken your car out, you come back and cannot start it.
Maybe also with your Apexi Intakes out of there for let's say some K&N's you would have alot more room to get your IC nice and straight making your ducting easier, also if ever you wanted to fab some piping it would be possible.

That's a pretty hefty looking ic, once you add ducting you'll be good to go. I'd recommend looking into an aluminum AST, however. There are many guys running around with that battery, I believe it tends to work out well......assuming you don't drive the car every day, you might want to consider a trickle charger.
3 questions:
a) Do you have any pics of it uninstalled?
b) How much was it?
c) How did you plan on making the ducting?
Also I haven’t used that exact brand but from my experience those little(r) batteries suck ***

It might be an optical illusion but the turbo side coupler looks smaller than the elbow side, kinda thinner in the middle. Maybe its just the coolant line in the way.
Those intakes are massive.

I'd look into getting proper hardpipes for the intercooler made. Those silicone pieces balloon out a lot and decrease response. Also, if you had a pipe going to where the stock crossover pipe goes, that would make more room for your intake.
Might also be worth selling the Apexi intake and going with a smaller intake - that would give you more room.

Something doesnt look right.. I have no personal experience with that IC, but just from the brackets on the front, it looks like it is supposed to mount to the front support, like as in the RE V-mount. And as others have said, you need to do somehting about all the rubbing between the intakes and the IC pipe. Best solution would be to ditch the Apexi setup and get an M2 (or similar) box.
yeah i think the fighters garage intakes are alot smaller , but i dontknow if the heatsheild would fit.
where did you get that i/c? also what is that strip w/ all the holes in it on the top? is that to bolt a duct to it? and if so shouldnt it of came w/ a duct

The intake does not rub the IC pipe, its just the angle of the photo..
Also, the inlet side of the IC IS actually smaller than the outlet! Not sure why...
I bought the IC second hand from a member of a UK RX7 owners club, it cost me about $350.
The strip with the holes in the top screws to a metal bracket which holds the IC on just behind where the bumper attatches, however - im going to use it to attatch the ducting im making.
Regarding the duct and how im going to make it...sheet steel, rivets and a nibbler basically. Just make it piece by piece, and rivet it all together.
I do want to get smaller intakes, but ive spent so much in the last few weeks getting this lot all done i just cant afford it at the moment, these work fine for now where they are - there are no rubbing issues - however, it isnt ideal having one of them almost behind the IC like it is so i do plan on changing it.
Thanks for the suggestions about hard pipes dale, ill look into it....
p.s - got the car started just now, i could not believe it. I bought that PC680 battery, and left it in the box for A YEAR. The car hasnt been started for a month and a half. Anyway, i hooked the battery up, turned the key - and on about the 5th crank it fired right up - nothing out of the ordinary no struggling and i havent charged the battery at all!!!
ill let you know how i get on with it when i switch my subs on lol

IC installed on another FD...routed a bit differently but pipes are pipes, doesnt really matter where they go...plus i needed room for my battery as i didnt reloacate, i got a smaller one.

Just because it is fitted to an Rx-7 doesn't mean it is made for an Rx-7. I am not saying I am 100% right but has anyone else heard of Rx-7 Specific IC's with anything other than 2.75inch inlet/outlet's?
