my rx-7 is acting like it's on crack
Recently i drove my 94 atx rx-7 from san deigo and parked it and it hasn't moved since. the only thing it does is turn over. from the check my friend and i did on it it's getting a spark and it has compression and air is getting to it .. when i fire it up it sounds like it's about to start but then it doesnt. i was thinking that maybe the fuel filter went bad but then when we tried to find that we couldn't. we called a mazda dealership and they said it was under the rear crossmember but to no avail it wasn't, all we seen a big black can with a hose sticking out of it that wasnt connected to anything that i suppose release the gas fumes from the car as we were told by the dealer. he also said something about it might be doing that because of the computer frying out.. who the hell knows.. he question i have is, has anyone every had this problem and how did u fix it, anyone knows anything about rotary engines around camp pendleton or socal area who can probally help me out, and where is the fuel filter located on the car acutually.
thanks

are you getting fuel? pull the main fuel line which is the one farthest to the front of engine near your sparkplugs. jump the fuelpump and see if you get any fuel comming out. if you got compression and spark, your missing the fuel. Also, i doubt that your ecu is fried, your getting spark and you can crank the engine, if your ecu was fried, nothing would work.
Good luck

the fuel filter is on top of the differential, and the very top under the car. I know that doesnt make sence but its best way I can explain it. Its not an easy job.

Check the hose to your MAP sensor. It is a black box with an electrical connector on it and it is located on the firewall next to the throttle body. It should have a little hose connected to the bottom.
You trying putting some oil into the nipples on the manifold where the BOV and throttle body connect (the two nipples sticking out above the turbos). That should help the combustion chambers seal up so it will start.
If those don't work, you might have a blown engine. Tow it somewhere and get a compression check.

i think i'm getting compression because when i turn it over i can place my hand on the back of the exhaust and feel something pushing out like air. and if the engine was blown i would be able to turn the gears in the front. but i'm going to check the rest of the stuff because we never thought of that.. another thing when turning it over when it sounds like it's about to catch the engine starts shaking and all. i don't like cranking it to much because it runs the battery low after a while. when check the fuel cell to see if maybe the fuel gauge was broken or to also see if the fuel pump was pushing gas through and we don't know how to check that well do u think the fuel pump is broken
and as for the fuel filter we were think it was that.. how would we actually get to it.. and is it a small black can looking thing with 2 places to put hoses or is it a big balck can .. under the car there is a big black can with a hose sticking out.. what is that also
