I lost my reverse due to a 3rd gear misshift about four months ago.When I tried to put it in reverse it would only go as far as the neutral gate but all the foward gears would work fine,so I was in the process of purchasing the 5thgear syncro to fix it cause it would grind alittle but I really don't need 5th I'm on a 32sq.mile island.I decided to take the fd for a drive and see if I could figure out how to get it in reverse so I drove up a slight incline that the car couldcoast backward about 2-3 mph.Once the car started rolling it was in neutral I got reverse no problem and it works no problems since.I still plan to do the fifth gear syncro job but hopefully not for a few months itsbeen about 2weeks now driving the fd daily with no prolems,I hope this helps others with similar problems.

Ok, you have an FD on a 32sq. mile island. Where do you find the room to open her up and do you ever feel like you are a lion traped in a small cage?

Seriously though, when you replace your 5th gear synchro examine the reverse gear for any wear or chipping. This may be the cause of your problem.
