I agree, a true wide band (0-5 vdc) is a must for proper tuning, but they have poor reliability over the long term & cost BIG BUCKS. Your ECU wouldn't recognize the higher voltage signal, so you would end up using two O2 sensors

By only displaying the upper voltage range (0.7-1.0 vdc) I don't get the dancing lights during normal cruise. In fact, it only lights up during idle & when I jump on it, otherwise it's dark. Plus it quite a bit more sensitive, each LED lights up at 0.03 vdc instead of 0.1 vdc.

Since it's the stock Mazda O2 sensor it's more for peace of mind than accurate info
