My new toys!!(Exedy twin carbon,Ohlins,Brembo )

Finally my new toy arrived today.

Ohlins DFV.

Time for new installation together with:
Clutch - Exedy Compe-R Twin carbon c
Front brakes- 6pot big brakes conversion(from Porsche Turbo 997)
rear brakes- 4pot Brembos( from Aston Martin DB9)
Handbrake calipers- Brembo handbrake calipers from Lambor. Gallardo
Disks- Brembo (from Porsche 997 turbo front and rear).

And some photos of them(without the handbrake calipers and front rotor).

Ohlins DFV is TOP quality.. I had HKS Hyper, HKS hipermax III, Tein mono flex and Cusco but Ohlin's quality is ...... far away from them.

Mmmmmmmm

Can't wait to see them installed. Those brakes look way bigger... I never realized it was that much different. That is the GT kit, right?

Used? Mind sharing what you paid?

Thanks for the good words.

So lets say..rotors are new, Calipers rear are slightly used, I am allready using he front setup(bought it new), but i took it off now for a repaint. Stoping power is HUGE...with just the front brake kit. I will install the rear as well and i will share the feeling.
Ohlins are brand new and rear habdbrake calipers are new also.

Rear brake kit(calipers, 997 rotors, handbrake calipers, adapters-work .etc) costs me about 4000$. Just the handbrake caliper with the adapter costs about 2600$ from RHD REVOLUTION Brembo Rear Parking Brake Kit Mazda RX-7 FD3S.

So i took it direct from Lamborghini Hellas for about half the price!!!
Ohlins took from my wallet about 3000$,
Have paid to Porsche Greece, for front set up and rear rotors about 4500$.
Another 1000$ for Aston Martin calipers.
and about 2000$ for exedy clutch (used)(with taxes and custom fees)

So its about 10 grand worth of money.

Goodfella you are right again!!!!

+1, I love my clutch. Just make sure you warm it up before you drive aggressively.

Are you having custom brackets made to fit the front/rear calipers?

OMG I feel like an idiot. I should actually read your post instead of just drooling over the pics and posting. You gave enough info in tyour first post to make it painfully obvious that this has nothing to do with the FD GT kit.

Money came from the job bonus for 2012:$
Hope the bonus for 2013 will fund part of the 20b conversion!

Love it, you picked all the top shelf brands... at this rate, you're going to have to figure out how to install an Akrapovic Titanium exhaust

Either that or it's woefully overbuilt.

I'd like to see what you guys think.

Thanks Gmonsen. Once i put a few miles no them i will share the feeling with street and track use.
Still waiting the rear adaptors for the handbrake calipers to test the car.

For 11k front and rear they're very comfortable on the street, not even a hint of the bone rattling ride quality normally associated with with coilovers with high spring rates. The ride quality relies a lot on the dampening. You buy a cheap pair of coilovers with horrible dampening you'll feel everything. When it comes to suspension you get what you pay for. The premium price for Ohlins is well worth it.
