I figured it, was the re-amemiya and the stock covers cut out. Very clever Idea I might add. After looking at the re-amemyia I personally think your design looks better for your 7. Also the comment about the headlights parachuting out, well the re-memiya pods have exitings towards the back so it wouldn't completely be a parachuting effect. I figure some doublesided 3m will hold it down perfectly, believe me I know from experience, as I have been running a similiar setup on another car for two years now and the 3m held up well in 100mph+ driving. You should go back to your design.

i like em...i agree they should be a little more aggressive (like that one paint photoshop showed), also i think in black on a black FD would look the best. are those projectors inside?

Very aggressive looking. I bet it looks even better in person. It's nice that you try to engineer things yourself. Keep up the good work!

Okay, we're on page 2 and the OP has replied to several things, but still no word on the lighting.

OP, kindly tell us how the lighting is, pictures of the beam pattern, etc. Not because I want to flame you for something that could be potentially hazardous to drive at night, but because I really like the look and would consider doing something like this on my own if proper lighting is achievable.

I am still waiting for a set of lights in the post that will be used as main lights. Until they arrive and fitted, i can't say anything on the light output, beam pattern etc. Its probably time of the year as we are going through holidays etc that the parcel is held up somewhere in the post.

I def. see where you were trying to take this, and I commend your efforts. I think you did a great job, made great progress, but haven't quite hit the mark yet...

Oh and I can't tell, but if the front area isn't covered, I'd *strongly* suggest you fab a cover for it...or you're liable to lose your entire headlight assembly while making a nice WOT run

I believe he's in the process of making some plexiglass covers to address the wind issue, great effort and a huge saving over the originals!

I just sat down for lunch and saw those pictures.

I noticed the rear flare right away (that is what I'm trying to get my rear to look like)

is it possible that could actually be the rear quarter rolled out that far, or simply an over fender.

the closest thing that I have found is the burnout rear fender flares, which there is currently a GB going on (steel replicas instead of FRP.)

Big man...there are quite a few options when it comes to fender flares & full fender overlays in Japan. And no, I can't list them all...but my new website will have them (which I'm trying to launch in January)!

Thanks,

Not my flavor, but I'm sure not going to bash you for trying something new. 90% of the cars owned on this forum make me want to puke, and 80% of those people will bomb on people all day for **** like this.

Hell, half of them probably have Eastbear lights. And (no offense) but those are the most rediculous looking things ever. Hell, Altezza taillights look better. Again, NO OFFENSE. Everyone has an opinion -

I still don't see the need to wipe *** with this guys thread. We're talking about tired old 13, 14, and 15 year old cars. Might as well try to make the shitty old lights better.

If you made the RE-ememiya style headlights, how much would you charge to make some fakes?

Don't let these guys get to you bro. The lights look good. Put some nice HID projectors in them and your good to go. I seriously don't understand some of you guys on the forum. You guy RE lights because its "RE" but indeed the output is truely horrible, yet you hang the guy for being a little creative.
