Nice ride! It's interesting how some FD's look good with a spoiler and some without. I think your FD looks clasy in the pics you posted. It looks refined!

So are you active duty military as well?

Signal Corps (recently came over from Field Artillery)

ya, but he's not a low IQ grunt like yourself rich...

he's a cadet that i know here at the Academy
now everyone will get confused who the guy is with "that badass black car"

oh, and unlike rich i wouldnt recommend the Greddy gauges really unless you are used to or want to convert to being used to reading metric measurements...

in any case...welcome to the club. when are you going to bring it down to CO?

Sweet ride! Congratulations and welcome. I think the Racing Beat Dual tip cat-back is probably your best bet. Keeps the stock looks, sounds nice and is very well built. Good luck, and keep us posted as you begin modding the car!

sweet car! do you know if those are the wheels used on the project RX-7 that SCC was building? I was looking into those wheels. I think they're made my Kosei, but I wanted to hear if anyone had them or liked/disliked them.

Well, Nic, it's pretty obvious that you're talking out of your ***

Grunt=Infantry soldier (E1-E4)
Last time I checked a Signal Corps (Telecommunications) Officer (1LT Promotable to you Cadet ) isn't a grunt.

As far as the Greddy Gauges: To convert from C to F, divide by 5, multiply by 9 (or just double it if you're lazy), then add 32. Pretty ******* simple

The Power FC also uses Metric, so I'm used to it by now.

Also, for a very reasonable price, you get 2 invaluable features on a water temp gauge: Peak/Hold and a red flashing warning function. I like to know how high my temps have been and when they get to high.

I would recommand Racing Beat Dual tip cat back exhaust ( low-tone) and HKS Down Pipe. I have those on my car and some other modifications.

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome, and the many compliments on my car. Also thanks goes out to the recommendations for what mods I should do to it.

To answer a couple of questions I've had:
The wheels are indeed 17" Enkei RS-E 3-piece wheels. They were purchased by the original owner a couple of years ago (just before the RS-E's were discontinued). I really like the feel and responsive handling increase with the 17" wheels. Seems to stick to the road a little better.

I've had many people tell me that they seem to like my car without a spoiler on the back. I tend to agree. At first I was kicking around putting a stock spoiler on there, or a small aftermarket one, but I actually think I like the clean look of not having one. Maybe a few years down the road I'll change my mind.

Oh yeah, and as Nic alluded to, I'm a cadet at the Air Force Academy. One more year and I'll be out of here, and on the airstrip flying jets. Haven't quite figured out whats better: Flying an F-16 at mach 1.5, or driving my FD At least there's room for my chick in my FD

Anyway, right now my car is sitting in my dads garage in Michigan while I try to figure out a way to bring it out to Colorado I think she's getting lonely, so I better get her out here quick. Does anyone have any recomendations for a good shipping company (preferably one that won't break my new baby)? If you have any recomendations, I'd love to hear them.

Lates,
Rob

as far as i am concerned any army guy i've always heard referred to as a grunt, but whatever....signal corps.....good for you. do you always have to try and pull rank even online when you feel insulted and cant take a joke?

i personally have no problem making the conversion on temp and pressure gauges, but for a boost gauge i like to have it in psi. I also used the PFC for a long time as you know and you can get used to it and with analog gauges usually you positition them so that you dont really read the numbers so much as see where the needle is. in addition, there are several gauge companies that make gauges with peak hold and warning features as well as playback. I was just informing him that the Greddy gauges will be in metric so that if he doesnt want to convert or learn to read metric and what temps or pressures in metric are beyond where he wants to run safely, he can run a different brand of gauges.

lazy gauges.....riiiight....
how bout you figure out what the hell you're talking about hannah.

no wait....lets just change all the gauges in your honda over to Km/hr and maybe put in some metric measurements on your water temp gauge besides "H" and "C"

good to see you teaming up with rich though - it really brings a tear to my eye how mature and intelligent you've become over the years honey, but i digress....

Yeah, I guess I'm kinda with Nic on this one. Call it lazy, call it stupid, call it whatever the hell you want, but I'd rather be reading my gauges in standard units, not metric.

Also, quick question for everyone:
If I put on a new intake, dp, and cb, am I gonna also have to put in a new ECU? Or should the stock one work for that? How much power increase am I looking at with those mods?

Thanks,
Rob

typically the general rule used is 3 mods = new ECU
you might be alright at altitude, but especially at sea level and WOT, you are pushing the envelope since with these mods alone you are looking at a boost increase as well as more flow into and out of your engine.

Personally, I would look at putting on the 2 exhaust parts and then a boost controller. After that, when you want to go further do the intake and computer at the same time.

You've probably already been told, but many of these basic questions can be answered by performing a search - there is a link at the top right of the page under the red FC.

- Nic

awesome. Thanks for the info. I was just planning on doing the exhaust to star with anyway, so I can quite easily save the ecu and intake for later.

Still looking for a decent transportation company so I can bring her out to Colorado (damn military doesn't really give me enough time to driver her out)... Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks
Rob

Who can't take a joke now? Chill out, dood. And I've never pulled rank on you, even when you're an arrogant little s.o.b., which is quite often

Besides, you'll be an LT soon--how the hell can I pull rank on a peer ?

well rich, you gotta understand that nic has to put down everybody in the military thats not an air force academy cadet, whether that be rotc, active duty, ect., so he feels better, but then he disguises it by a joke.

and nic, its obvious you still are in that juvenile state of mind and that you still find some enjoyment out of putting me down, whatever. i have two words for you, grow up, you're getting a little too old for this
