CYM's came with sunroofs ???

it looks like an aftermarket sunroof to me, but I can't tell really... that would suck if someone chopped the top to put some glass sunroof in it.

Yeah, Jesus H. Christ. Of all the cars in the world, putting in an aftermarket sunroof in a CYM R1 is a sacrilege and a Goddamn shame. What in the hell were they thinking? I would not even consider that car for that very reason.

Looks like a great project car, replacing the roof skin isn't that hard of a job. Keep us updated with pics.

A new roof skin absolutely.

A "patch panel" will have no structure to weld to, welding to the existing roof skin will warp the crap out of the existing roof skin. If the roof gets all warped you'll have to basically fill the entire thing with bondo and carve it down until the double bubble feature reappears. In the end it'll be more work and the result will be much worse with the bondo likely cracking in the end.

I'd go for a new roof skin for about $600. Used parts are available but the bodyguy will spend a lot of time drilling out spot welds, stripping old paint and fixing dings on the used part.
