My new Borbet type T rims, what do you think???

Here's a couple of pictures of my rims that I will put on my car when my current tires wear out. They are Borbet Type T - chromed.

They are similar in look to the Forgelines, but only a fraction of the cost. The Forgelines are around $700 a piece, and are made for road racing. I do not road race nor did I want to spend $2800.00 on just a set of rims. I researched what was out there and it came down to either these Borbet's, or SSR Competitions. I came to the conclusion that the antracite gray that the Competitions came in would not match well with my silver rx7. So I ended up buying the Borbet's. I guess that fact that Tirerack had a sale on them for only $99.00 a piece ( marked down from around $300!!!) helped steer my decision.

In hindsight I probably should have had them polished out instead of chromed, what do you all think? The fronts are 17x8's and the rears are 17.9.5's.
P.S. sorry the pictures are so damn large.....

If I'm not mistaken I think that the type t's and the type td's are the same. the only difference is that the td's have a cover that hides the jug nuts. Am I wrong? BTW, do you have any pictures of the rims on your car? I would l;ike to get a prevue of what to expect!

Damn those rims look sweet! I take it those are 17" rims. what are the tire sizes you used as well as suspensoin mods? That's basically the look I would like to achieve. Please give me the details..

Nice choice! I really like them chromed. Those look good enough that if my rims ever got really messed up, I'd consider having them chromed after them got fixed. Here are the Type T's on my car. I'll take more pictures tomorrow and post them if it's not raining.

Yes and no. Tire rack has the 17x8's still for $179, but do not carry the 17x9.5's. My understanding was that Borbet was discontinuing this size (17x9.5), therefore tirerack had a closeout sale on them. Last time I checked their site, they didn't offer them, but email, or call them, perhaps I'm wrong.

The 17" or 18" also fill the wheel well up nicely

Not to mention handling. Tom

Thanks for your pictures, they look great on your car...what have you dont as far as suspension mods to your car? do you have the 17x9.5 in the rear? If so, what tire size dod you go with?

After I get the rims on, I will then start researcheing springs, and shocks. I'll probably go with the Koni sports, and perhaps H&R or m2 springs. Any suggestions?
