My first official problem with my FD

Ok, so I fugre I'd give my 2 cents on today to give anyone that has this symptom a warning if this ever happens to them. About 2 days ago I had been driving my FD and all of a sudden while I was swapping gears the car wouldn't go into gear (I was in bumper to bumper traffic, so not pushing the car). I turned the car off to get it into gear so I could pull off the road, but when I turned the car on it was like a sh*tload of banshees were under my hood, all sorts of squealing. It went away when I took my foot off the clutch, but returned again when I pressed the clutch. I searched and found a lot of people that had this problem had to replace the slave an master cylinder, so I was planning on having this done, but I also saw that I had all of my clutch fluid still in the main reservoir, so it didn't look like a leak, but there was a leak of some sort coming out of the bottom of the car when I shut it down (it looked like oil, but I check my oil daily, and have not had to top it off for the last 4 weeks, so I thought it couldn't be that). So I take it to my mechanic and he's looking around to see what might be wrong with the clutch, can't find anything from what he can see, but we're both pretty sure the clutch is fu*ked. He cleaned off the engine bay with some brake fluid cleaner to see if he could see where the leak was coming from, but couldn't find anything under the engine. So he takes the car off the lift and is getting ready to put it aside so he can buy a new clutch for the car. When I try to back the car out, all of a sudden the car starts shaking like it was having a convulsion, and start throwing a fit cause the car had not acted like that before had had gotten into it. So he put it back up on the lift and saw a small puddle of oil built up on the engine crank pulley, so he reaches in there with his hand to see if the bolt that holds the crank pulley might be loose. The bolt falls out into his hand........ so he takes a look and it appears that the bolt was never put on tight, and the locking pin that is behind it began to back out to hit the bolt (the locking key pin holds the oil pump, engine crank, and the attached counterweight together). So he manually cranks the engine and gets the key pin back in, then puts the bolt back in properly and puts the engine back together................. I drove the car for about 2 hours this afternoon (stuck in traffic again), and not a single squeal or a locked out clutch....................amazing................. .

Yeah, tell me about it, but I go back a long way with him, he used to be my parent's landlord. Great guy, and to top it off, he worked on this car for like 3+ hours and ony wanted to charge me like 100 bucks!! I gave him an extra 50 anyways. Guess he doesn't need the money though, he's always got a line of cars in his lot. He let me "squeeze" in though cause I knew him so well. Figured he had taken great care of my subaru when I had it, so figured it couldn't hurt to take the RX to him. at first to be honest I thought it was a big mistake when the car started shakin, but damn, he did a great job.
