My FD met the light pole this morning... opinions?

so this morning around 6 a.m. im still tired and lazy as im driving off, and noticed i left my garage door open, so i start backing up.... and when i thought i seen the pole pass me... obviously not, i turned the wheel and ran the quarter panel down it. Anyone have a rough estimate something like this would cost to get repaired... i know it wont be cheap seeing as the quarter panel cut and welded, Maybe its finally time for the FEED quarter panels.

That sucks sorry we all have one of those days though. Its not going to be cheap to fix being that it got into the gas door, but I have no idea how much. Once again sorry for the bad luck.

I RECKON IT WILL BUFF OUT HA HA!! Nah seriously you should be able to get it repaired without having to replace the quarter panel, just go around and get some quotes, just dont go for the cheapest option as in most cases you will never be happy, I should know!

better idea would be to get new parts and paint them, repairin + repaintin is never worth it unless u got no other choice :P

thanks for the positive comments... i was kind of expecting someone to call me a dumb *** but so far so good. Not to mention i was coming down off of some oxycodon from a major ear infection so i was still a little high from that. What a great day to start a day right?
im thinking the bumper can be saved... but the quarter no matter what will have to be cut and welded. I was guessing the 1.5-2k range too... i was on my way to some Volk Ce28 Time attacks.... and now im not, since i need to get this repaired.

yeah the bumper is good, i've repaired wost, kitty hair and fiberglass sheets to reinforce the back then just a bit of bondo or plastic weld to fill it in.
i might let the insurace take car of it if i were you, heck if they can match the paint well and with the blending you might have the whole car repainted, but becareful it does nto total out your car unless you want them to.

Not a professional, just fixing my own parts or friends cars and such, its not that hard, just a pita without help. Like i said i would fix it myself if you dont want ot go through insurance, a platic weld kit, fiberglass mat, kitty hair, and bondo can easly repair that in a few hours or a day if your new to using it.
To be honest i rather let the insurace do it for you, mainly because of the rear quarter and paint matching and blending that needs to be done, honestly you might need to spray the whole side or car if your paint is that old.

It doesnt look TOO bad the only thing that is going to suck is the pinch at the filler cap. I would say go through your insurance as well.

And as for people making fun, stuff happens to us all in the end.

Good luck with the repair!!

^ I think that too. The hardest part will probably be the filler cap area, the rest of the panel may come out fine. Depending on what your insurance company thinks it's worth I doubt they would total it. I think the only parts you'll have to replace are the filler door and light. As long as a body shop doesn't say you have to replace the panel too that is. The bumper shouldn't have to be replaced though as Azcamel said. Get some quotes from a couple of shops and see what they say about that panel.

it wont be totalled.I hit a support wire from a phone pole and curve, damaged the whole quarter, rear bumper, front wheel and total estimate was $4900.Car wasnt totalled.Youre just going to have a hard time with the quarter if you get it fixed rather than replaced because of the gas filler.....Good Luck
