I waited a week for the auto parts place to get my belt. Wrong ******* belt. Then the shop i had it at told me the belt broke, and in the process of breaking, broke another belt, and my water pump is shot

So, i had to cancel my appointment for my new 3" exhaust (**** a body kit) Cuz all my money is gone. D'oh!

However, i did find a rotary mecca, and had my car towed there. I was talking to the owner, he took me around back, and BAM! 4 FD's It was like coming home I didnt know about this shop. Apparently, there are about 10 FD's in Idaho, mine is the only black one. And 4 of them were there. And this guy races them, rebuilds them, does everything. So, i'm pretty stoked i found this shop. Too bad it's gonna cost me a ton to fix my damn car.

Get used to it. FDs aren't known to be inexpensive cars to maintain, esp. if someone else does the work

Tupac, whats wrong with your car? You need to replace your waterpump and your belts? If you have hand tools (i.e. basic sockets and wrenches) you can do it your self. It's really not as hard as it seems. If your scared you might screw something up, just do some serious searches online. Every maintenance item is available with documentation and pictures. This forum and www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7 can answer guide you through almost any repair/mod to this car. If your not comfortable I understand, but I'd give it a shot before I paid someone my hard earned money for basic jobs. If you have ANY questions just ask, the worst that will happen is that people will tell you to "SEARCH" lol.

I'm considering doing that. It cant be that hard. A water pump is a water pump is a water pump. I called the shop to see if they had it done yet (they said they might be able to have it out tonite)

My buddy and I did his water pump. Didn't take too long; it was actually fairly easy, relatively speaking of course

The best thing you can do for your FD is learning to work on it yourself. I change my own plugs, oil, tranny fluid, etc. Alan and I actually did his vacuum hose job correctly, too. Remember, no cares about your car than you do, and if you want something done right--do it yourself
