Gorgeous Wheels!!!

The one thing about HRE, and iForged look alikes, that I wasn't aware of is that ther isn't a "gutter" built into the rims. The problem is that driving in rain, the water can pool in the rim and the spinning causes a collection that unbalances the wheel.

from what I heard...I am curious to know if this is true as I might get some iforged which are almost identical

I haven't been on this forum in awhile, but on the other forums (corvetteforum and supraforums), there are several people who got ripped off by Iforge wheels. In fact I am good friends with one of the original distributors. Iforge doesn't even make their own wheels. Just trying to save someone else the $$ and trouble myself and others went through.

What's the big deal with HRE wheels? Sure they're blingin' (if you're into that), but they're heavy as f--k!

The manufacuring process, strict quality control and materials used are what make them so pricey. They are basically designer rims.

the reason i purchase these rims is because they are one of the strongest wheels around. before this i had two sets of volks that kept cracking on me.... if you drive hard and fast like me everyday then you'll understand. i was tired of getting my volks wheels repaired at 200 bucks per wheel every other month.

I have couple of friends with HRE rims. they highly recommended it to me. so please dont hate

94 rx-7 twin turbo - 18in HRE 546R
2002 M3 - 19 in HRE 545R
96 camaro ss (700rwhp!! 396 supercharged) 18 in 540R
2002 audi s4 - 19 HRE 546R(coming)

While theyre not superlight weight, theyre far from being overly heavy...and as said above, their strength makes up for it.

Went to your photo album website. How the hell do you pass emission in California with the single turbo, not to mention the bling bling?

Not overly heavy? According to the wheelweights website, they are 27lbs. in an 18x10. Considering that stock wheels weigh ~15lbs. and aren't known to break, there are surely other options from a functional point of view. They *are* nice looking wheels, but IMO, they're more for show. But hey, to each their own.

He probably has the hookup with an "under-the-table" smog job. A co-worker was telling me about this the other day. He has someone that will pass you for $350, regardless of mods. You don't even have to bring your car. Just front the cash, bring your DMV paperwork and you're set.

Well, considering he had TE37s which are a very light weight wheel and by design will have less structural integrity (like SSR Comps), and combine that with a low sidewall tire, and any manner of pothole, hit it hard enough and you will bend it.

What are you guys drueling at? Those wheels don't look any better than BC Forged BC06es? http://www.bcforged.com/home/frame/

That pic looks like crap. Can't really tell what those wheels are.

Someone mentions HRE wheels, you all get hard-ons LOL. HREs are over-priced, and aren't all that...

wassup with some of the people on this forum... when you buy sorry *** rice **** for your car you get hated on and when you buy good ****, you get hated on. what's the deal??

like i said before... i bought these rims because its high quality!! if my friends had the BC's or iforged and recommend it to me before i would've bought that but they dont. i dont know anyone that runs BC's or Iforged right now. some of my friends run on HRE's. plus i purchased these rims almost the same price of the rims i wanted at iforged. exact motorsports wanted 5400.00 w/o tires. i got it for 4200.00 w/o tires at KarToyz Unlimted. KarToyz also said they can customize it for me with the reverse 3.5 in lip and the high polish finish with NO extra charge!!!

some of you guy asked how i paid for these. i work for a computer networking consulting company and im a full time student.

Sorry my picture is crap. I did say i took it with my camera phone.

Haha, that's Manny for ya. He's an old-school track racer and suspension/wheel guru and he frowns on anything as heavy as HREs on an FD so your definition of "good" is all relative.
