My DIY cold air intake for under $20.00!

OK, I win. 2 pieces of fiberglass flexible "heat riser" tubing and some plastic epoxy. Sucks cold air from
UNDER the car, where the air is most dense. This and a K&N. Damn, am I a cheap, clever bastard or what?
(with most of the emphasis on cheap...)

Puddles in TUCSON? Never. Ever. It would still have to be sucked up about 2 feet and then past the filter element. Now if I was driving underwater................

That tubing is actually designed to route hot air off the top of an older V8 exhaust manifold to a choke plate on the bottom of an air cleaner intake snorkle. Probably around 600 to 700F where it connects to the manifold. The hot air activates a temperature sensitive spring that opens the choke plate once the engine is warmed up.

HELL YES IT WORKS AND YOU DON'T NEED TO SHOUT!

btw, welcome to the forum. One tube snakes down and terminates at an existing cutout in the plastic radiator
"baffle" and the other at the wheel well at an existing opening.

I FIGURE IT'S GOOD FOR AT LEAST 60 HORSEPOWER AND YES, I AM YANKING YOUR CHAIN!

I can't stop laughing when I saw the pix!! Could you have gotten a bigger hose? Ha ha..

I would probably have routed the hose to the nose so you pickup some air rammed in.

If you liked that, check out my new post: Holy ****! My new Walbro fuel pump...

I left the stock intake in place for the air pollution jerky boys - of course they have no idea what they're lookin' at anyway! "Hey fellers come over here and look at this goddamn engine - is that a Ferrari?"

GHETTO FABULOUS

That is the most ghetto thing I've ever seen. Looks like something I would do. Is it on the car yet? How much hp do you think you gain from something like that?

It's all in the marketing! I was going to add a companion product to my diy subwoofer kits: the diy engine stand!

I took three pieces of 2x4 and screwed them together in a "U" shape that fit around the bottom of the pan flange so I didn't have to chase the motors across the garage while swapping parts.

For $19.95 the kit comes with 3 pieces of lumber, 4 three inch screws and instructions. Some assembly required.

Please contact me for distribution rights. Thank you.

It's been on for three or four years. At least 60 -70 hp boost, guaranteed.

i guess it doesn't rain in tucson like it does in detroit. roads are completely flooded around here with the slightest bit of rain. road engineers around here don't understand the concept of crowning a road.

i'm tellin' ya if you drive through a pothole puddle in that thing and both those ends both go beneath the water level its instant hydro-lock and byebye turbos, motor, and anything else that gets in its path.
