That tubing is actually designed to route hot air off the top of an older V8 exhaust manifold to a choke plate on the bottom of an air cleaner intake snorkle. Probably around 600 to 700F where it connects to the manifold. The hot air activates a temperature sensitive spring that opens the choke plate once the engine is warmed up.

btw, welcome to the forum. One tube snakes down and terminates at an existing cutout in the plastic radiator
"baffle" and the other at the wheel well at an existing opening.

I FIGURE IT'S GOOD FOR AT LEAST 60 HORSEPOWER AND YES, I AM YANKING YOUR CHAIN!

I would probably have routed the hose to the nose so you pickup some air rammed in.

I took three pieces of 2x4 and screwed them together in a "U" shape that fit around the bottom of the pan flange so I didn't have to chase the motors across the garage while swapping parts.

i guess it doesn't rain in tucson like it does in detroit. roads are completely flooded around here with the slightest bit of rain. road engineers around here don't understand the concept of crowning a road.

i'm tellin' ya if you drive through a pothole puddle in that thing and both those ends both go beneath the water level its instant hydro-lock and byebye turbos, motor, and anything else that gets in its path.
