Question my clutch seems to not work right

Hi guys, hope you can help me out. My clutch just started to act up last night. It was fine but when i went to start it last night, i thought i heard a clicky noise. So before i started it, I tried to replicate the sound again to see what it was by pushing my peddal to the ground. It didnt do it again, so I started the car, warmed it up, then went to put it in gear. It was harder than normal to put it in 1st gear. When i went to drive, the clutch caught ( i dont know if that is the right term) very early. almost as soon as i took a little pressure off, and it is doing it in every gear. The car shakes/vibrates untill my foot is off of the pedal. I know this is not normal, so what could have happened? When i place my foot on the pedal but dont push it in, it seems to be vibrating/pulsating a bit, and if you ar in neutral and push in the pedal, you can hear a few clicks, like the motor is going around and the clutch is not quite "grabbing". Thats what i hear anyway. I dont even know if my understanding of the clutch is right. I checked my clutch fluid, but it is full. The clutch is new, it has about 6,000 miles on it. what could my problem be? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give me. I am going to call my mechanic on Monday, but need to know if Ishould stop driving the car until I get it fixed.

Well.......

I can assure you I don't know as much as the rotarheads here but I'd suggest not driving it excessively until you have the problem checked. RX7's are pretty finicky and one problem can lead to another.......you said it's a new clutch.....is it the stock clutch or aftermarket???? And did you pound the car a day or two before this happened? It could also be something other than the clutch like your tranny, again I could be wrong....I'm basing that on the fact the FD's all have synchro problems...usually 5th gear but your problem doesn't sound like a synchro problem. Just take it to someone who "KNOWS" FD's and have them check it....sorry if I couldn't help that much..hopefully someone else will chip in
