My CD sucks

I have a 93 with the original CD. When it gets hot in the interior of the car the darn thing has a terrible time skipping to any particular track. And it skips like crazy. Also, I cannot, and I mean absolutely cannot skip between tracks on any CD with more than 10 or 12 tracks on it no matter what the conditions.

Anyone else have this problem?

Probably time for a newer generation CD.

the only thing my stock cd player is good for is holding CDs for about 5seconds then spitting them back out...

Yes, there were problems with the '93 BOSE system.

If you do a search in the Audio/Electronics forum you'll find either where to send it to get it replaced/repaired, or what kit you need to install a new head unit without replacing the entire BOSE system.

Axe- I had the same problem as you did, then it elevated to airborne's problem. The easiest and best thing to do, especially with the BOSE system, is to get an aftermarket head unit. You can search the 3rd gen section and audio section, and you will find MANY agree that the BOSE does have some potential, you just need a better head unit. And what better time to do it than when your's is acting stupid

I'm lucky, I've got a Bose sounds system.
