Well in addition to the battery that should be in Monday or Tuesday, I also ordered a fast reacting IAT sensor that I have bench tested. It's so much faster then the stock sensor! It should make tuning, and seeing the effects that the WI has on intake temps MUCH easier to do. I can get more of these sensors at a good price if anyone wants one. Here is a link to a discussion on it.

Here are some pictures of the battery I'm using for the relocation. I still need to get some wire, I've been been looking for a good price on it, I've already ordered a circuit breaker, and It should be in any day now.

Update: This battery rocks!

I relocated it to behind the driver seat. The battery sat for about 2-3 weeks before I installed it. As soon as I put it in the car cranked over just as fast as the giant battery that powered it before. It always has plenty of juice even when it sits for a week without starting it. I also have a 140 amp breaker on it. Makes it nice to disconnect the battery quickly.

Here's some pics. not as clean as some of the relocated batteries I've seen on here, but It's easily hidden by closing the lid. I also have a power inverter for my laptop charger. The 2 gauge battery cable drops straight down and follows the fuel lines to the 12v connection on the starter. I ran the lines next to the fuel lines in such a way that they can't get pinched if the car ever bottoms out on something.

Great thread. Best description of these cars is a "violent application of power." mine was down for a year and a half and even 5psi of boost feels refreshing (breaking in a motor that I ported and built -- that's a nice accomplishment).

Update: Been running 23 psi on pump fuel for a month or 2, car is a rocket.. especially with the cooler air outside. Raced a lightly modded z06 vette the other day and pulled bus lengths on him.

My boost curve with the t70 in 4th gear is 8-10 psi by 4k, 15-17 psi by 4.5k and full boost between 4.8 and 5 k. 1st gear I think is a max of like 12 psi or so. haven't paid attention to 2nd but 3rd 4th and 5th all make full boost. At some point I'm changing to a 4" exhaust, at least the downpipe and midpipe, and also changing the non divided .96 housing for a 1.00 divided. Hoping to see some better spool.

Still looking at replacing the wheels and tires with some wider rubber. At this point with stock width tires the car breaks the tires loose in the first 4 gears.

Been running the fast reacting IAT sensor for awhile now too, works amazing. Since I do all my tuning it makes it so much easier, I also feel more confident that the air temps are accurate, and don't need to worry about heat soaking like the stock sensor. I was able to tune my air corrections table on the PFC with back to back consistent runs. The cooler weather had leaned out my mixture a little, and tuning using the sensor made it so much easier/faster to get right. Last winter with the stock sensor the air temps kept getting higher and the tune kept changing around. I finally got the tune where I wanted, but then it wasn't right come summer, indicating my tables were still off.

So if that wire shorts out your car doesn't burn to the ground. It also allows you to disconnect the battery with the click of a button. This is handy if you work on your car a lot, or don't drive the car all the time and want to keep the battery charged.

My car starts fine if it sits for a few days or even a week, but much longer then that, and the battery goes dead pretty quick. I've gotten in the habit of disconnecting the battery everytime I'm done driving the car for the day.

I got the same battery! Love that lil guy, how did you mount the battery? I actually used 4 gauge wire and even with 15 feet it still cranked. I don't think it will last a week without driving though... seems I have a small drain somewhere.

I don't have it mounted at all right now, its a fairly snug fit so it doesn't move around. I'll prob make one at some point though. I think i have a small drain too. Because the battery lasted over a month before putting it in and was still fully charged. But after close to a week of not driving the voltage is definitely quite a bit lower.
