is my car going to be stolen?

So i walk out of the resteraunt and there is a guy standing in front of my car taking a pic with his cell phone. Now, normally i would be flattered except for the fact that it was dark, raining, my car is black and he was using a cell phone with no flash to take pictures. When i started walking up to my car he left without saying a word to me. The only thing i can think of that would turn out in such a picture would be my liscence plate. Do you think he might possibly be getting the plates to find out where i live, then steal my poor car? Perhaps he was just a big fan of FDs? Btw, my car is nothing special from the outside....needs new paint and is completely stock looking.

Hopefully just a fan, do you garage your car at night or is it out on the street?

get a surveillance team in a van to watch your car

make sure they don't park in a different driveway one night though

Eugh. Just trust your insurance. At night disconnect your battery or install kill switches.

I think the kill switch is a great idea, its effective and cheap. Ultimately, if a theif wants your car he will get it, some pros will just tow it away...

I used to park my FD outside on the street, until the guard at my complex told me that someone in a car stopped next to it and took a picture in the middle of the night, and then boned out.

After that, I demanded garage parking from my apartment landlord person, and now my car gets garaged everynight. I'm sure insurance would cover theft.....but I wouldn't want it stolen anyways!

i would hope to god all of u would have a garage!!! x_x

i would worry. that sounds sneaky. wat it sounds like to me, anyone who has worked on a car outside at nite will get this, is maybe using the fone as a light source? one thing bitch *** theives like to look for is front mounts to yoink. a nice car like that would seem like a target

NOT just a fan...y would he just walk off? i think he would have said something like, oh hey nice car or whatever. oh im sorry i was just cheackin it out sweet ride or some gay ****...not just walk off.

me? my car is garaged. i wake up at night and check on it. i wont leave it anywhere unattended for more than a few minutes without checking on it (want a good way to **** off girls?? haha) have a gun! i make sure theres at least something handy if i hear any commotion. if i feel like someones following me close to home i go a different way! haha...yeah i am absolutly paranoid. too many dirty *** theives out there!

^^ What NuTbAgSaN said. I get people that take pictures of my car but they always ask me before they do but then again my FD is ALWAYS in the garage and it doesn't leave my sight when I have outside my house and of course I'm fully prepared for dumb *** that will try to take my car.

This is a great reason to leave your parking brake on!

Serious though I wouldn't worry even though everytime I hear a sound near my car I reach for my closet but still.

My car is parked outside, has a cover on it but I live on a farm and everyone that knows me knows if you come for my car I will shoot even if it means damaging it.

L1A4 Assault Rifle is my anti-theft device.

Seriously, dog, gun, kill switch, park brake. The rest they can bypass like nothing anyways.

Parking brake is no match for a flat bed anyhow. Ive got a 1911 style .45, but it doesnt do me much good as the car is parked 5 stories benieth me. And the guy was definately taking pictures, cus i was parked in the back of the parking lot and when i was walking up he had his back to me so i saw him taking the pics. When he noticed me he turned around and walked away.

How hard is it to get an adress from a liscence plate anyways?

Why don't you NY guys use a real gun ? 9mm(that MAY be a .40) suck for killing people. Also I would be very afraid to shot someone in NY for stealing my car. Texas I wouldn't hesitate.

44 for away from the house duty

12ga w/slugs (buckshot will probably damage your car )

Well one time at work (grocery store) one of my co-workers was developing film and noticed my car in the photos. Someone had taken a picture of my FD and then developed the film at the same store it was parked at...she got paranoid and pulled the picture but I figured it was just someone admiring a beautiful piece of machinery. Never know though.

I am a big fan of the pager alarms, and also the club clutch!

Most people don't take pictures of the liscence plate unless they are up to something, just be more vigilant. Because the person did not say anything, they were probably trying to hide their identity and motive.

I will take some pictures of my rifle if you guys want. Shells are about 4 inches long so the payload is decent and distance is not a problem.

Just no matter what anyone can get jacked, you are never safe.

i'de get a friend at a reputalbe machine shop to build me a custom sterring wheel quick dissconnect and then have a kill switch, and park it in a an area where a flatbed or even a normal tow truck would have trouble getting into, cause i know my sisters car got stolen that way, that really pissed me off, it was a MX3 bad cindition too, and my bro (he mattied her) could not afford theft at the time and then this happend, found it a week later but still. or lower it enough so that they would not be able to get underneath it, s othey could not hook it, nor jack it up. just my idea's :P
and keep a few bats handy or something of the sort, cause ya you can get insureancem but you are still outta a FD i would just beat the person, not to death but i'de make him remember it, thats forsure, if he ever stole my car!!!!!

My magic 8 ball says no your car will not be stolen in the next 45 min, but anything can happen. I know insurance will cover theft, but I wouldnt want my FD stolen. It's not like I can go to the local dealer and buy a new one. Just look for wierd cars the next few days around your house.

goodluck,
josh

You damn crazy texans. Yea is a 9mm. I'd love to be in texas, over here you have to be so careful when you own a firearm but I have a friend that's from texas and he tells me all sort of crazy gun stories and I love it This is my next baby, hopefully later this year
