my Airinx won't fit!!

I've looked at all the pictures from other people's installs but something's up.

my intercooler piping won't allow enough space for the primary intake (the lower one). I'm starting to think that my IC piping is not actually authentic GReddy. Upon closer inspection though, doesnt look like there's much room for the pipes to be any more forward than they already are...

here are some pictures:

i dont know what im doing wrong, any input is appreciated, thanks!!

EDIT: also, I plan on trimming the ACV/ABV/CRV/Airpump inlets because they won't be used---where can I find caps for these?

Looks like you are out of luck. My Greddy Stock mount fits fine with my Airinx. By the looks of it you are running a front mount. You are going to have to re-do your piping cause I don't see any way around that.

um, dude it's a greddy intercooler(at least that's how it was sold to me) and a greddy intake, people with greddy FMIC's can fit this intake fine. I want to know why I cant--assuming that my pipes are the same as authentic greddy.

please don't flame unconstructively

yes

i had an HKS before that came with the car----used stock hoses, mainly just filter replacements. I will soon be dressing up my engine bay and liked the look of the airinx & metal pipes.

i feel like once I cut the airpump tube i'll have some more room to get it in...

Can u back up a bit and take more pictures?

here are some more----i removed a pipe but there is still no space to fit it in, it seems to be pressing right at the junction

and from this picture, you can see the bracket hitting a hardline (sorry i dont know what it's for)--but it doesnt allow me to push it back any further

I had the same problem with the airinex intake and the Greddy M-Spec(?) FMIC. The only I would suggest now if you want to keep it is rotate the primary filter so it doesn't bump the IC piping. Or if you wanna be like me, get the HKS Racing Suction, toss the airinex AND redo your IC piping .

Wow man, from the pictures thats a tough squeeze. You're definitely going to have to modify something in order to get it to fit.

I had the same issue when I ran the Greddy FMIC and that intake. The solution was to not use the metal pipe for the primary turbo's filter and screw the filter onto the black rubber elbow. Not ideal but it worked for me for a couple of years till I got rid of the Greddy FMIC.

Looking at the pic you still have to bolt it down so it'll move back some. I had the same issue. I just bent it back slightly and raised the intercoller piping slightly bairly nothing but helped. Now with about 5,000 miles on them with engine movement it started to break off the fins touching the pipe, but didn't rub away any metal, just scuffing it. Ill take some pics of mine when i find my camera. By the way i think that the i/c pipe bothering you could be mounted both ways, am i right? Cause i think i was running into the same issue but then inverted the pipe and got alot more clearance.
