My Adam C intake experience(now in stereo)

More unabashed sharing fellas. Since I got my radiator in I've been tackling my intake. I ordered Adam C's shield(aka the cheap bastard intake) and it rules so far. I cut up the box and my duct. I still need to cut the drivers side mount off of the box to fit with my greddy smic and the fluidyne. I used my air cutter to cut the holes in the ducting/box and then used bondo hair to fill the holes and then sanded em down til i was happy and painted them krinkle black. Here are some pictures.

heres the box all cut up

heres the mold i made for the old inlet

heres the other side where i taped the mold on

this one is dark but you can see how i applied the bondo-hair over the molds. The bonda starts getting hot. Really hot and this is the time to remove your molding. If you let it set youre gonna be sanding brown paper off your bondo later and thats just annoying.

heres on half-*** sanded. im really not stressing on if it looks perfect. I just want em to hold together without leaking and be krinkle black.

and heres another dark on to give you an idea of how crappy my sanding was and how it still works and doesnt look like utter ****. Using thos ecarboard temlates created one beautiful side but the sid i had to glop on got nasty. I went at it with my air cutter and it ended decent so i painted.

My ductwork elimitates the ducting of the ac canister, battery box, and intake. the ducting is purely for the SMIC. Adams intake is whoarding cold air from his shielding so thats taken car of. The 3rd and final ducting piece that takes the air to the intake box is now just non functional trim.

tomorrow id like to finish cutting the lower box and get some bolts tightened fo a little reality check. Ill keep this thread updated with my progress and answer and questins and entertain all comments. Ive been workin on this set of fabrication for about....6 hours.
it soulds like a lot but there arent many good ducting choices. Im pro-sleeper so im all about tweaking thos stock parts or trying to make non stock parts look stock. Thansk for reaing guys. stick around itll shape up more this weekend and probably be pretty final by next week.

hehe! behold! what i have created in spare time with no real budget. working duct no look like poop.

ill retackle this tomorrow and hopefully get some better pictures and entertai questions. I did paint adam's shield krinkle black and it looks so much better. You cant see it anyways but then if you did youd miss it because its so sleepy!

Ive got to wait until i get my boost controller sorted out before i can really button things up up there and some other things. im fine to take my time but my mom wont stop bitching
im borrowing her car while mine is in my garage and she kees threatening to see it and i say ok! sell it. West valley is 3 seconds away, ill tale the bus and get better grades while saving money.

Why not fiberglass instead of long strand bondo? Will that long strand stuff crack?
