My 750+whp FD at The RollRace Rivalry

This event was for sub 1000whp cars. This was the "B" Team event to the Texas Invitatinal. Where the fastest true street cars in the country come to battle it out at speeds over 200mph. I have raced in every Texas Invitatinal since the begging of the event 4 years ago, going to the finals in my Twin Turbo Viper. So i have alot of experience in this style of racing. My Rx7 did great this past weekend, and won alot of races most did not think i could win with a car only making 750whp to the 900-990 whp cars. The event was ran great and had a great time, 163 mph was the break out speed. I had the fastest car there, that did not break out.

Awesome!

The only thing missing for me was a massive fireball at shutdown to punctuate the victory.

Jrod, your FD has stolen my heart. It was built in a stupid short amount of time and does flawlessly (and reliably) what it is supposed to do, go FAST!

Props to you (Y)

Congratulations! Great job!

I was curious to know what brand and tire size did you use during your runs? Did they perform well? I beleive you also had stock tranny and rear end right?

Thanks!

Yep, stock trans and rear end. After the last event last month, Third gear decided to explode. So we put another factory one in. SMALL tire! 255 M/t Drag radial on the stock Fd wheel. I plan to go with a bead locked 27" tire, i was spinning the tire on the wheel once it hooked.

This was linked in one of the other videos.

How does the start work? Are you trying to get as close to the starting line as possible without actually crossing over before the light turns green?

That's my old Fd. Making 550ish in the video. You get up to speed 60mph. And as long as both cars are paced, they turn the light green and you go!
