well yeah, you're right. i should have specified what i meant, and that was original/stock engines under normal maintenance and no modifications. i have heard of well rebuilt engines going over 100k consistently. some argue that it's all about the proper maintenance, maticulous care and mindfullness.. that a rotary engine can go forever if you do it right. but when it comes to the 13B-REW, they just don't last forever. let's face it, it's a fragile and very particular engine setup that requires alot of extra care and attention.

i've heard people brag about going 150k on a 13B-REW without a rebuild. Is that really that impressive? Only for a rotary, if you ask me. Put that much attention and detailed maintenance into a turbo 4-cylinder, or a big v8, perform that critical of a rebuild, and see how many miles you can push out of it.

Sorry to come across so anti-rotary, but i think the reliability is just a matter of fact and time proven evidence. It's something anybody should put into consideration when thinking about buying an FD. Personally I think it's entirely worth it because this is, in my opinion, one of the best cars of all time in terms of looks, performance, and handling. It just comes at a price.. like most things.

Nateness, I think you should go for it, especially considering this is just going to be your fun car that you're not relying on. All the work and money you will put into an FD more than pays off when you get behind the wheel.
