I am in the process of moving my coils, vacuum tubing and solenoids from under the upper intake plenum. I have most things maped out and the wiring compleated but not trimed to size as yet. I did a search and came up with nothing. If anyone has pictures of someone who has done this shoot me a note.

 

Moving the solenoids? As in moving the Solenoids out from under the UIM and installing them somewhere else? No.

 

Well I am non-seq w/ emissions removal - so I only use 2 solenoids (only one of which is actually functional).

Sooner or later I will be replacing these with a single larger solenoid and extending the factory WG solenoid wiring.

Your best bet is not to relocate - but to remove and go non-seq.

 

hey clayne since yuo had to remove like everything in the engine bay and move it all why are you still using the wastegate precontrol? I realize they are connected together but you dont need the wastegate solenoid to operate the wastegate correctly. Also, you should have kept the purge solenoid valve infront of the tb.

You do not need the EVAP solenoid. Trust me, I researched it beforehand. It can be vented at the charcoal canister.

The reason I kept the PC is because both solenoids are quite hard to seperate and didn't feel like cutting in half incase I ever wanted to use it again. I may use the PC for something else anyways.

Yes actually you do need a variable duty solenoid valve in order to have electronically changeable boost control.

 

well on that car i was running a manual ball and spring valve so i didnt need it. worked wonderful since i was at 12psi and never wanted to go above or below that so electronic wasnt needed

isnt the canister in tha back of the car? ive never followed it back so i kept the solenoid along with the fpr one in case
