moving the battery

i want ot move my battery out of the engine compartment. is there kit or something i need to buy? any help would be appreciated

All you really need is extended cable to run the battery to the back or rear bin.

If you purchase a kit from Pettit or M2 it'll be somewhere around 300 bucks.

I connected the positive cable to the starter and just grounded neg to chassis as my battery is now in the rear bin.

Also you MUST use a fully sealed (ie OPTIMA) or drycell type battery, any other type can release HYDROGEN Gas (explosive) and or Sulfuric Acid (which can form Hydrogen Sulfide a VERY POISONOUS GAS) into the Pass Compartment. This is why VW moved the Bug batteries out of the pass compartment (under the rear seat) in 64 - a HYDROGEN explosion under the seat is a rather unplesent experience for your passengers!!
