Mounting an aftermarket fuel pump

I'm working to install an Aeromotive Tsunami fuel pump in the tank. It came with band clamps lined with rubber on the inside that wrap around the pump and hold it, the clamps have flanges on them so that you can bolt the pump to something flat.

I want to put this in the tank, and plan to tie it to the stock pump holder, can i use any kind of metal to make brackets with? I want to make a bracket that bolts to the clamps on the pump and then clamps to the stock pump holder. Just want to make sure I'm not using a bracket made out of something that would cause trouble in the system when submerged in gas.

Thanks.
