Really quick quetion. How much do you think an engine just the block would go for if is just has a fractured seal? Supposing the housings and rotor are okay?

thanks guys.

I doubt you would get more than $500-600 for it as whole. You would do better to part it out which you could get more money for "usable" parts.

A cracked seal is usually going to damage at least the rotor housing, and possibly the rotor just depending on luck of the draw. Even though the broken piece is small, it still can't fit between the rotor and housing as it flies around without doing damage. IT's unusual to crack a seal in such a way that the piece stays put as the engine continues turning.

In most cases a core in unknown condition is worth $300-500. Bear in mind the buyer has to pay $100-200 shipping on top of that, and there may not even be that much worth of parts inside when they tear it apart.

I recently bought a "good" core where only 4 out of 10 major parts were reuseable.
