Depends on how much 3K is worth to you. If you are patient and meticulous in marking things, no sweat, if you aren't mechanically inclined then maybe not your cup of tea. It's not difficult, many forum members, myself included have installed their engines, and I myself have done over a dozen. (only 2 of my own). The nice thing about doing it yourself is you will learn far more than you ever imagined about the systems of the car, and you can inspect every piece for problems. I say go for it and put that other 3K towards making her faster!

Your dealer is screwing you over unless he is putting a NEW turbo and Reman engine or NEW engine (almost impossible to buy).
Local dealer quoted $3200 plus any accessory parts that are needed. This included removal and replacement of the engine with a Reman Engine. Accessory parts are gaskets, broken items, wiring problems, etc. that would creep up upon removal.
