The most beautiful new part I've seen to date

Here it is, guys... my brand new wiring harness. It looks, sounds (no cracking), smells (new plastic) and tastes (don't ask) great. I've been waiting on this for a while. I got it from Ray at Malloy for a pretty reasonable deal. If anyone is considering a wiring harness, now's the time to buy, since the prices are going up; they're up about $80-$100 from last MONTH.

Now I'm going to hack it up!

If anyone needs some brand new solenoid plugs, or anything else that I cut off, please let me know.

Badass! Wanna trade for my baked harness? You'll probably have an easier time removing connectors from mine since they'll just fall right off.

Like I said, 4 months ago; prices go up.

And I'm not active SCCA (although I plan to be), so they won't sell them to me anyway.

A buddy of mine bought a new TurboII harness back in the day. Man, you just can't beat new parts - all nice and shiny and whatnot .

You almost feel bad putting it in the car, since you know it's gonna get all crappy over time!

The worst part is trying to gather the courage to make the first cut to a virgin harness - haven't got there yet. I've had it 2:00 and counting...

why dont you just leave it be? You dont *need* to cut anything for any reason...

just leave them, too many people have had problems when they 'clean' up their harness...i'd choose to just let it be...but that is me

Yeah, I thought about it for a while and ended up taping everything I'm not using out of the way.

You're definitely right.

I'm working on the install right now - getting through the firewall is a major PITA. I came inside for batteries for the flashlight.

Phew harness is in. Back is sore. Hernias are plenty. Hands are bleeding.

I'm going to fab up the fuel return for my FPR, put the UIM on and call it a night.

For future reference, if you're having trouble getting that sealing grommet to pop into the firewall, give it a finger coat of lithium grease and tug on it from inside the car and it will pop in a lot easier.

finishing up

Calling it quits for tonight. UIM installed, wiring done, fuel system done. As you can see in the pic the rear turbo is not mounted - nice shot of the front D/P

I got mine from Ray as well. I know exactly how you feel, not using half of the connectors after shelling out all that cash kinda sucks

I thought you were going to sleep with the thing tonight! Would be a shame to hack it up. It's also a shame to have all the extra crap when you don't need it. We need someone to make an alternative harness with out all the crap and for less then what the OEM one cost!

hmmmm, reminds me of my thread

would be very easy if i didn't have to make a auto harness work for a manual

if anyone has a used harness for sale let me know, I can come up with some easy schematics and how to's for us single, no emmisions people

I wouldn't hack it. Just don't hook up what you don't want.
