This month in super street

^^It's got a silver 1400hp Scion drag car. It should be wrapped in plastic with the DVD in the back.
Honestly, the Option DVD was the only reason I purchased the magazine. I used to buy SuperStreet every month, but as my tastes in tuning matured, I found most of the cars and the writing kind of sub-par. However, as far as American magazines, I will admit that they often have the best representation of Japan-based tuning shop vehicles.

2 FD's since '98

A quick Synopsis of the FD's...
They start by 'stumbling' onto a HUGE 7 gathering w/ people talking about who the guest of honor is. Amemiya himself shows up in his personal 7. They then do a 'canon ball' run to a pre determined spot, and the host rides w/ RE A. But, towards the end he starts getting scared because RE is battling it out w/ a high horse power Supra. So, RE slows down cause the guy is basically crying.
Then they show a time attack around a course w/ several big tuners involved. The 7 made a 56s pass. A Skyline made a 55s pass, but the all carbon fibre HKS Evo makes a 54s pass. But then, they go out to better the time and the CF Evo runs head first into a wall, on camera. They show lots of other wrecks, mostly in drift events, and alot of 7's eating it
And finally they show circa '95 film of a new, '95 RE A 7 w/ what appeared to be a N/A 3Rotor in it do a high speed run on a loop circuit. Don't recall w/ it did but it was over 200.
Funny about the TopSpeed run in England. I was in England when that happened...way back in 1998! I was there for a few months and read the article in TopGear mag about some Japanese bloke getting arrested for speeding in his Supra. What the morning Judge didn't know was that this guy brought his car from Japan for the sole purpose of doing 300Kph on public English roads; and he did it! The DVD then follows him to do the same thing in New Zealand w/ another Supra and finally on the Autobahn w/ his new Skyline/G35 where he got up to 335Kph!!

Before the Wangan 7 meet, they also show a red FD with RE-Amemiya exterior components and a 600hp 2-rotor. The cameraman (Chiba-kun) goes for a ride in it along with a white GT-R. The guys that own them are in their forties; the GT-R eventually catches fire.
The Wangan 7 meet had FC's and FD's (But the FD's were the fastest). First they show Autoselect Aspara Drink lookalike owned by Sawa-san. Then, Takeyari pulls up in his convertible contraption. The Supra you mention is actually the Ridox Supra, and its driver is JGTC/Super Taikyu/D1 Driver (and former D1 judge) Manabu Orido. Then after some joking with Eiji Yamada (Tarzan), Chiba-kun approaches Amemiya-san in his green FD. They go out on the Wangan, reach the starting point, and start racing.
If you think Chiba-kun was crying in the Amemiya FD, you clearly have never seen Option videos before (no offense intended). He sends in this footage all the time, and actually highway races himself (They even show him losing his license on this DVD). He's just joking. Amemiya-san didn't slow down, either. He said that it was having problems (it wouldn't rev past 8k). Orido evetually passed him, but neither won, because Sawa was beyond them the entire time.
The time attack is actually footage from the Tsukuba Super-Lap. The white 7 that makes the 56 lap is RE-Amemiya (It offers in-car footage as well). They also have the full record lap of the HKS TRB-02 Crabon Evo, piloted by JGTC/Super Taikyu/D1 driver Nobuteru Taniguchi.
Sorry, just clearing that up

Can I get a copy as well? I went to Borders to find the current issue packed with a Nitto calendar and no DVD. Then I looked back and saw that this thread was posted in November.
