Mod Engine Mounts
I cobbled up a new set of engine mounts using the stock hardware. This picture is a second gen Rx7 but I settled with using Jag XJ6 mounts. They are untested but at a cost of 25.00 dollars total it's far better than the cost out side. The mounts are set up to take the load of a big 6 cyl and the mounts are new not used. The other 400 dollars can go elsewhere in the project.

Maybe some of you don't know the driver side mount is a molded part of the support hardware and is at best an odd design. The mount pictured has the molded mount removed and a hole machined in to except a normal engine mount configuration. The mounts can cost as much as 500 a set. The biggest problem owning a FD is the cost of parts since there are so few around the parts are not mass produced like Toyota etc. The small niche shops don't sell many and the price stays high with lack of volume. The other problem is repair and the lack of knowledge withing the repair industry, but there's no car that look as cool.

If you need new mounts they cost around 500 a set.
I did a little work here and have a new set for 25.00 bucks and I feel these are going to be far better than the stock ones. The factory Jaguar XJ6 design is close in shape and size (1/4 inch shorter) but designed stronger.
