missing trans plug

Yo,

I noticed a ton of fluid under my 5spd FD and lifted it up to take a look at what is leaking. I found what looks to be a missing plug on the transmission.

What plug is this? Can I drive it without it? What thread pitch & size is it?

Thanks!

The plugs in the side of the box are bspt. From memory....and it could be faulty, one's 1/4" the other 3/8" - used them for a cooler in and out.

Send your picture to Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda. He will get you the right part.

If you don't have any luck with Ray @ Malloy, try finding any 90's era manual-transmission Mazda/Ford Probe in the local "U-Pull-it" salvage yard.
