Military guys

I was wondering where you guys put your decals. I've put mine in the bottom drivers side of my window but the farthest outside number keeps comming off and I think its due to the wind blowing it off. So where do you guys have your decals at and do you have this problem?

I actually am currently in the process of giving my command a lot of crap, I dont want permanent stickers on my car, I told them, if I go to a show or something, I'd really just prefer not to have that on the car. I just get temporary passes renewed every couple months lol. But I have a few friends with FD's and the stickers on they never seem to have any issues with it. So I think you may have just gotten a bad sticker :-\ lol

Although I see the stickers all the time around where I live, I can't remember what they look like. So they must not be that obnoxious. Even so, you've seen vinyl window stickers before. Would you be able to get a sheet of clear vinyl large enough to stick your stickers on, then just stick that vinyl sheet on the inside of your window? You could then remove it any time you wanted yet it should still be clearly visible as you went through the gate.

Just an idea....

Try the corner of the rear window where it meets the B-pillar.

I got mine in the bottom drivers side corner and its still fine. Maybe you might've had a bad batch or sumthin' man, or maybe the spot where you had put em' was still a lil dirty.

Yeah, that would involve work everytime I enter and leave the base, Im going the minimalistic route here...I figure every 90 days getting a new temp pass, vs peeling a vinyl off every time :-\ Meh...Plus, the ladies in the Base Pass office here are...How do you say...not so good at the english, and...Crazy...

I just have mine lined up and below the reg sticker on the lower driver side windshield. Looks like its supposed to be there. Screw showing your ID every time you roll up to base! I'd get tired of that fast.

I got my military sticker right in the middle of the windshield in front of the rear view mirror. Don't know if you can see it in my sig, but yeah the Air Force bases don't require it now since they check ID's.

But it's still required on Marine and Navy bases..

I always kept mine on the lower left side of the windshield. Never had any problems with it peeling off.

The only issue (and it would cause one) with putting the stickers on the inside of the car would be when you park in the wrong spot, and some bored MA/MP/SP comes by to scrap your stickers. Finding that they are not accessible, they will probably write you a nice ticket and (possibly) cause a **** ton of problems (could hit you with an Article 86 if you are otherwise troublesome).

The "technical" spot to place your base sticker is in the top center of your windshield. However, in my 5 1/2 years I have NEVER put mine there. Now I don't have any at all (live overseas, base stickers are a big no-no) instead I have a pink access card and my ID.

Aww.. I never had any problems with the ones at *** Norfolk.. just went in there after getting my stickers scraped, flirted a little (joked mostly) and didn't give them a hard time. They are so used to people going in all pissy that being nice and kidding with them a little goes a long way.

The cops ******* hated me. But I always got more stickers w/o problems

Well the MA's dont really screw with us where Im at, thats not really an issue for me, BUD/S guys get left alone, as long as your NSWC from what I can tell they really dont even try talking to you...I've heard some crazy stories about SEAL Team chiefs ripping into MA's...Not sure how accurate some of them really are but if I were an MA and a Snr Chief in the SEAL Teams came at me...I'd shut up real fast lol...

My base did away with them Sure it lets the gate guards know you are military, but it also tells the rest of the general public. Since military people can be the target of possible terrorist plots. Lets say "Habeeb" sees this sticker on your car he knows you are military, he plants something under your car, you go on the base, then BOOM!! There's one good reason to get rid of the stickers. I feel safer driving my car without them + it looks a lot cleaner

Thats exactly what they told us in a long and drawn out Powerpoint slideshow/movie. So I have no problem not having a base sticker or anything military on either of my 7s. Plus, around my area; cops have it out for military personnel. Something about how since we are military, we should KNOW better than to do anything that would be considered illegal in our cars. Under "Habeeb's" and "Smokey's" radar is where I prefer to be!
