Mild Steel Downpipe

Who runs a mild steel downpipe and what kind of reliability are you getting? People tell me that stainless steel lasts longer but I don't believe it. The stock pipes are mild steel and they seem to last pretty well. I suppose the mild steel might be heavier but the difference can't be much....

i think the stock dp is cast iron isn't it?
Some people that go with the mild steel have it jet-hot coated to make it last longer. I have no idea how well this works, but it seems like the way to go to me...Or you could just spend the $60 for a SS dp and never have to even worry about it.

just my $.02
