Might be picking up a FD tomorrow, under the hood?

I went to check it out monday, I looked for rust at the spare tire well, no rust, also he said the battery leaked and ruined the radiator so he's putting in a new one. What should I look for under the hood to make sure everything is on the up and up? and where are some spots I should check up on to make sure chassis is healty? Thanksssss

Check out Rob Robinettes' and Steves site. Lots of good info there. I am sure someone here can help you with a link. Good luck, Tom

Definitely get a boost gauge hooked up and check the boost pattern. It is also a very good idea to perform a compression test.

don't let common sense go out the window (like i did ) get somebody who works and knows about these cars check it out for you. the owner might say "oh, and blah blah needs to be fixed, but that's it, everything else is fine" but that blah blah could cost like 2g.

The RX-7 chassis is very strong and it is not prone to rust. Look for any accident damage, of course. Your main concern should be the engine and the cooling system. If the radiator or other parts of the cooling system are damaged, I'd be concerned. I wouldn't drive it if it's leaking coolant. Refer to the links above to learn what to look for concerning the engine.
