Question Midpipe install : smog pump question

I know I can just plug up the hoses to the cat, but can I just unplug the pump from the harness and the check engine light won't come on and everything will be fine?

I don't want to leave the hoses hanging and recirculating the air under the car.

let it blow into the atmo...it's a one way check valve so it shouldn't suck ne-thing in. If u unplug the air pump u'll need a resistor to fool the ecu. most ppl get that annoying unstable idle if the air pump is unplugged.

The air pump also supplies air for the exhaust manifold which helps the O2 sensor to do it's job correctly!
